The room, the mat, the teacher.

A three-teacher studio behind Waterfield Road. Twelve mats a class, four classes a day, one workshop most weekends. Beginners welcome — we will say so in the description, so you know before you book.

The room

What the studio actually looks like.

A regular Tuesday morning. No stylist, no props brought in for the shoot. This is the room you would walk into on your first class.

The studio

A room, three teachers, and one house rule.

The Practice opened in a first-floor room in Bandra in 2021, after Anisha finished her third teacher training and could no longer keep her students in her living room. Radhika joined in 2022 for meditation; Karan in 2023 for breathwork. The house rule, then and now, is that classes start on time — the door locks at three minutes past the hour — and end on time, with two minutes of silence and no conversation on the stairs. That is it. Everything else is teacher-led.

Students

What students say when we ask.

I have been to three other studios in Mumbai and this is the one where I keep going back. The 7 am with Anisha is exactly what it says — ninety minutes, slow, quiet. No essential oils, no talk about journeys, no pretending my knee does not hurt when it hurts.

Priya M.

Member since 2023 · Bandra

I signed up for the beginners course as someone who had never done a downward dog. The teachers explained what I was doing and why. Twelve weeks later I can hold a low lunge, and I have stopped grinding my teeth at night. Both are surprises.

Ranit V.

Foundations grad · 2025 cohort

The breathwork workshop with Karan is the strangest three hours I have spent in a room in my adult life. I do not know what to make of it, and I have booked the next one. That is honest.

Before your first class

What students ask us before they book.

I have never done yoga. Which class do I book?

Either the 7 am slow-flow or the Sunday restorative — both are slower-paced, hands-on, and taught for a mixed room. If you want the fuller introduction, wait for the next Foundations cohort (they run January, April, July, October). We do not think you should walk into a vinyasa class on day one.

What should I bring, and what do I wear?

Yoga mats are provided; you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Clothes you can move in — cotton or synthetic, both fine. No shoes past the reception. A water bottle. Nothing else. There are showers in the changing room if you are coming from the office.

Do you offer private classes?

Yes — Anisha and Karan both teach one-to-one and small-group privates in the studio or at your home. Rates are ₹4,500 per hour at the studio, ₹6,500 at home in Bandra / BKC / Lower Parel. Ask on the enquiry form and we will match you with a teacher.

What is the workshop schedule?

One workshop most weekends — usually a three-hour deep-dive on a single theme (backbends, arm balances, breathwork, meditation). Priced ₹2,000 for members, ₹2,800 for drop-ins. Announced on the schedule page, on Instagram, and in our monthly WhatsApp.

Do you do teacher training?

Not currently. Anisha teaches guest modules on two 200-hour trainings we recommend; we will introduce you if you ask. We have not opened our own TT because we do not want to run one that is smaller than the one we would want to attend.

First class

Book your first class.

Tell us which class you are looking at, whether you have practised before, and anything about your body we should know (a knee, a shoulder, a recent surgery). We reply within 24 hours, on WhatsApp — usually the same day.
